Join us as we come together and reconnect to our craft, use theatre to bring communities together and address social issues, and create hope through excellent and exciting work!
Ticket includes: Exciting and experiential introduction to the day, 3 workshops of your choice, catered lunch, and discovering playback theatre at the end of the day to reflect.
Workshop options include:
Inclusive Theatre with Diane Nutting: Eperience how to create an inclusive theatre education setting (students with and without disabilities working together in the same space) through the development of classroom infrastructures, specific strategies, and encouragement of social inclusion.
Hip Hop Theatre: Join our special guest artist in creating a contemporary series through elements of hip hop culture.
Theatre of the Oppressed with Patrick Crowley: Address social change directly through performance art with an emphasis on physicality.
Devised Theatre for Social Justice with Dana Parsons: Creating a piece from the ground up to address a chosen social issue with a focus on ensemble, we will end this workshop with a performance of our final product!
Technical Theatre Experimentation: Jump on board with the staff at UMD as they guide you through technical design and implementation workshops.
You will be contacted upon ticket purchase to select a lunch order as well as your 3 workshops for the day.
